During her many years serving at St. Agnes Convent, Sister Suzanne would be seen driving her station wagon around Fond du Lac early in the morning to pick up day-old bread from local grocery stores to deliver to individuals in need and organizations serving the poor. She retired to Fond du Lac in 2005, residing at St. Agnes Convent and volunteering until she moved to assisted living at Nazareth Court and Center. Sister was preceded in death by her parents Frank M. Dinkel and Rosa (Hertel) Dinkel; her brothers Clarence, Ed and Hilarius; her sisters Julitta Dechant, Bertha Prewo, Melinda Griebel, Rita Rohr, Regina Dechant, Irene Scruggs, and Sister Francis Rose. Nancy was born in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, on May 14, 1934, the daughter of Milbert Funk and Lucille Zangl Funk. She was admitted to St. Francis Home with hospice care on Friday, September 17, 2021, following hospitalization for a serious illness. She was food supervisor for one year at St. Johns Rest Home, Victoria, Kansas. Following graduation, she worked as a staff nurse at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac. Sister Annette ministered first as an elementary teacher at St. Marys School, Ellis, Kansas, and at St. Patricks School, Hudson, Wisconsin. She immediately moved to Nazareth Center where she received loving care and support until the time of her death six months later. After graduating from Appleton West High School in 1953, she was encouraged to become a professional musician; however, Caryl was determined to be a nurse and enrolled in St. Agnes School of Nursing, Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, graduating in 1956. She earned her M.S. From 1993 2009, Sister Deborah served her CSA community as an elected General Councilor for eight years; Vocation Director; member of the Congregations formation team; and as the Director of Development. She made her first profession of vows in the Congregation of Sisters of St. Agnes as Sister Cornelius on August 15, 1954, in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Springs Cemetery. As our Mission Statement affirms: We are led by the Holy Spirit to embrace the Gospel life of continual conversion, through prayer, community and service, in the tradition of Francis, Clare and Mother Alfred. Sister Rachel was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Agnes Doerfler, her brothers Alfred and Marvin, her sisters Lucille Befort, Isabel Gabel, Mildred Fitzgerald, and Edna Brown. She was the eighth child in a family of twelve, including eight girls and four boys. Food has always been a go-to for people in mourning. The Sisters of St. Agnes are grateful to the nurses and staff of Nazareth Court and Center/St. Mary was born July 4, 1936, in Decatur, Indiana, the daughter of Otto Andrew Miller and Rose J. Spangler Miller. A Mass of Christian Burial with cremated remains present will take place on September 6, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. in St. Francis Home Chapel, 33 Everett Street, Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. She also earned several certificates in religious education. Compassion, encouragement, loving care, a listening heart and so much more were part of the daily experience of those she served throughout her years in hospice ministry. She enjoyed her years as a music teacher in Our Lady Queen of Angels School in East Harlem, New York, and Guardian Angels School in Lower Manhattan, New York. The presider will be Father Ken Smits, Capuchin. Sister Bertha Ann was preceded in death by her parents Peter and Anna Bertha Gase Miller; her brothers James and Oscar Miller; and her sister Rosalia A. Noonan. Sister Elizabeth Ann received her B.S. Upon completion of her tenure at Marian College, the warmth of the Arizona sun led Sister Cecelia to the Southwest. She spoke fondly of her childhood growing up in Yonkers and attending Sacred Heart Parish with her devoted parents and her two brothers and two sisters. In June 2016, Sister Judith joined the community of sisters residing at Nazareth Court and Center in Fond du Lac. The presider will be Father Ken Smits, Capuchin.
